For those wishing to venture out on their own, a SUP rental is the perfect option for exploring the waters of Acadia, for an afternoon, or for a leisurely few days
Why rent from us? As the premier SUP shop in Maine, the difference is in our top quality equipment, attention to details, unparalleled customer service, and paddling expertise unavailable elsewhere. We don’t cut corners and we believe that matters.
Because we aren’t located on the water, we do have you transport the boards, but don’t let that intimidate you! We now exclusively offer inflatable paddle boards on our half and full day rentals which means there is no need to load or unload anything from the top of your car. Simply take the boards to the water in their provided travel bag, inflate, and go. The whole process only takes a few minutes and we will make sure you are set up for success.
Ultimately, we think being mobile with the boards rather than stuck with only one option, means you get the ultimate flexibility in your paddling location and your day (away from crowds, busy boat launches, and out of the wind) making it seamless and memorable.
You must be at least 18 years old to rent a paddle board. All renters are required to sign a waiver and fill out a float plan with our staff which we expect you to follow. Minors on our rental boards must be supervised by an adult at all times.
Maine State Law and US Coast Guard Regulations require:
For safety and liability reasons, unless yo are on a multi-day rental, we generally only allow our rentals to be launched at the following locations (wind and weather dependent) and are happy to offer our suggestions based on the days conditions.
Coastal waters in our area carry the added risk of: colder water temperatures, large tides, greater exposure to wind or waves, unpredictable fog, and potential boat traffic. For this reason, we recommend those wishing to paddle in tidal water to consider going on one of our private guided trips instead.
Regardless, we reserve the right to limit where you may paddle based on our assessment of your ability and daily wind and/or weather conditions. We **do not** offer refunds on rentals if we determine that where you plan to paddle is not appropriate to your ability level or the days weather conditions. Please keep your expectations and itinerary flexible and remember that at the end of the day you are ultimately responsible for your own safety.
The following local lakes and beaches DO NOT allow paddle boarding because they are used for drinking water supply or are designated swimming beaches.
Please do not take your rental board to restricted areas. We reserve the right to limit where you may paddle based on your experience, wind, and weather conditions.

A National Park Pass is required if launching from inside Acadia National Park. A pass can be purchased at many locations or online at Recreation.gov
Please note: Again, our store is NOT located on or near the water so you will need to transport the board yourself. We do not have on-site parking but there is a public paid parking lot behind our shop We ONLY offer delivery evenings (the day before your rental) on Multi-Day rentals. Additionally, we cannot always accommodate last-minute or same-day delivery requests. To arrange delivery on a long term rental, we suggest you call us to set up an appointment and make your booking.
