SUP Yoga

Yoga meets Stand Up Paddle Boarding! Acadia SUP offers approximate 75 min. SUP Yoga sessions 2 nights per week all summer long. SUP Yoga is the perfect way to connect with nature and get an amazing workout at the same time. Classes are designed with all ability levels in mind and can be as easy or hard as you want to make them. No previous SUP or yoga experience is necessary and reserving a spot online is easy.

The main goal of each class is to challenge you and leave you feeling more connected to nature and the water. In such a fluid and dynamic environment you cant help but leave feeling invigorated and relaxed at the same time.

All classes are taught by a certified yoga instructor and we provide all the necessary equipment. This includes a mandatory PFD that you must keep on the front of your board as well as a small anchor to help keep you from drifting if the wind begins to pick up.

We meet 15 minutes before class to help unload boards, and get ready. After briefly overviewing some board safety and becoming familiar with our equipment we launch right out onto the water.

Some poses will be more challenging than others. This is because the asana's (poses) are being performed on a fluid and dynamic surface and you will be engaging muscles that you would not normally.

Also, because the poses have to be aligned correctly for even weight distribution on the boards, you will not only be benefiting from a challenging class and receiving and amazing core workout; but you will also be improving your regular studio yoga practice as well.

Don't worry if you fall in or get wet. That is part of the fun of the experience and it is easy to get back on your board.
